She sat
at the edge of everything.
pieces of past
crumbled at her feet,
and flew like boulders,
smashing on the way down.
In a piece
she saw your face
and smiled when
she watched it shatter
and deteriorate against
the rocky sides
of a new beginning.
Smiling,
she turned and
walked away.

Very well done. An excellent look at the affirmation of ones closure. I loved how it took so little to stamp the point. It was whole in itself. |
