She Dances

Contributed by NoSaint on Tuesday, 28th February 2006 @ 02:49:47 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

She dances in the meadow
Daisies adorn her hair
Joy like no other knows
She would gladly share

Others laugh and scoff at her
Say her brains are not right
But she has never hurt a thing
She always has a smile bright

At birth her father left
For he could not cope
With the idea his daughter
Would always be a dope

Downs syndrome the doctor said
Words hard to understand
But she grew up happy
Because of her Mother’s loving hand

She dances in the meadow
Radiant in all God’s grace
Love is all she has known
And she offers a smiling face

What can I say? lately, with you I feel like a broken record. You are stuck in the most amazingly poetic rut. And I don't mean rut as a bad thing at all. In fact it is a very, very , very good thing. You are stuck in overdrive. You are not tapping the breaks, you are not shifting down, you are not slowing down. In fact for your sake I hope the speed limit on the road you are traveling in continously increasing because you are driving faster and faster. I feel that it is only right if someone tickets you. Though I am not sure law enforcement can catch you.

Sorry about the lame racer metaphors, but honestly I feel like your latest works have been superb and seem to only get better. I thuroughly enjoyed myself reading this and was uplifted to the heavens.

BRAVO!

- SCM

Such a wonderful sentiment Shari. I can see her dancing in this
loving and heartfelt piece and it is one of the most beautiful scenes
I could imagine. You've done well capturing the kindness and true
beauty of the human soul. [despite any handicaps]

Wonderful work, hun.

Shari, this is absolutely devine. The tenderness in your pen brought loving tears to my eyes. These children are truly special and have been touched by God's grace.

Thank you for this truly love filled write.

this was written beautifully. Um.. I think somewhere inside of us all we all have handicaps whether it is psychical or just mental. I think people who laugh at others when they have handicaps are mean and rude. well this was a good poem

take care
