Impossible stargazing

Jumping into glitter,
Does not seem hard right now,
And swimming to the moon,
Seems possible somehow,
I'll raise up my hands,
Then simply touch the sky,
Lift my feet up off the ground,
And teach myself to fly.
Then I'll soar upon the northern wind,
Where the birds will whisper lullabies,
They'll teach me how to sing of spring,
While I reach out for the sunrise.
I'll gently touch the softest dawn.
And hold it like it a child born,
Sing the day to sleep, for night,
Won't wait for me until the morn.
Then maybe in the shawl of dark,
I'll fly alone from where I stand,
With the moon a beacon, leading me,
I'll leave my place upon the land.
Then from there I'll cartwheel down,
Across the atmosphere,
And ride upon the starshine,
Through the galaxies which appear.
Then to the dawn I'll slowly fall,
Led by sparrow's wings,
To the longest grasses I'd stand tall,
And wait for day to end.
I'd float there till the nightime comes,
With the wind my only friend,
Till the moon lights like a beacon...
... And I'll stargaze again.
This jumping into glitter,
Seems so perfect now,
And swimming to the moon,
Seems easy somehow,
I'll raise up my hands,
Then simply touch the sky,
Lift my feet up off the ground,
And teach myself to fly.

This is a beautiful write. I love the metaphors. It flows so well...like a soft summer breeze cooling someone and just making them feel soooooo comfy. :-)
Simply put, I love it.
Thank you,
Tim

Rated you a five earlier, dear Philly. But I had to comment too, and say this reminds me of those oh so starry nights in my mountain highs. If we can fly anywhere, it certainly felt like it gazing out there from the high places! I love this because I love to imagine flying (without a motor - heh).
*hugs*

This is lovely, fanciful, whimsical and something I am sure Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables) would be in love with. Well done, Philly! |
