Our Footprints...

Contributed by moses on Monday, 27th February 2006 @ 07:06:25 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Desolate cries carry with the wind.
Gravity crippled your souls flight.
Such terrific simplistic beauty,
you compliment the coming night so well.

We take the risk,
a road we've both taken before.
Just you-I want no more.
We slip off our shoes.
We made our mark,
short term nonetheless
but footprints we left just like our pasts.

Your hand I grasp,
the dark's crisp kiss brushes against your skin.
We shed our chains,
and we laugh as the ocean laps
up on our feet.
Forgetting it all, including time,
we embrace and the plantes align.

A crack, a sharp sound knocking me
into reality, where only your photo lays before me.
So faded now, with only a scribbled note
painted on the back.

No more do we laugh,
I can't seem to forget the past.
Your smile triggers so much,
exposing memories I've tried to leave- unlike our footprints-
untouched.

You know how you say, you get tears reading beautiful poetry, how about a real outburst of cries.. warm face, the chest feels heaving.. way out there.. hair stands on end.. no time for my throat to get a lump .. making ready for the tears.. instant tears.. treasures tears ... seeing what is left.. well, I don't want to break down over your poem, lets just say.. thank you for its creation.. well, call me a nut.. silly goose.. but when I go to the ocean and make prints on the wet sand, I wait long enough for the tide to come in, wash them away.. take them out to sea.. is that crazy.. to wash my prints away before my eyes.. the only footprints I want to be kept here after I leave.. is the prints I may have made onto others hearts..

Beautiful work. Different perhaps, but it shows excellent use of language, not too complicated but eloquent.

Well done.

Oh my. How wonderful of you to drop by my page and lead me
straight to this amazing masterpiece !!

I love the enchantment that has been woven here and even in
the ending, there is much beauty. Sad, but still a soft allurement
surrounds the heart.

Exquisite work moses!
