You Never Looked Back

Contributed by pixie on Monday, 27th February 2006 @ 04:38:30 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You never looked back the day you left,
You took with you my very last breath,
Sadness picked up where you left off,
Breeding inside like a cancerous cough.

You never looked back on my bleeding heart,
That day that you went my world fell apart,
Loneliness curling around my insides,
You did not witness the tears that I cried.

You never looked back when you ripped me in two,
You painted my life a deep shade of blue,
Years of lies lay with me at night,
Holding my throat and holding it tight.

You never looked back at my shattered world,
You can’t see the damage you did to your girl,
Broken promises swim around in her head,
Rushing inside her the lies that you fed.

You never looked back you heartless bastard,
You never even said it was good while it lasted,
That day you left my universe in tatters,
At least I now know how less I did matter.

A powerful poem of love and betrayed love. Good wording that creates some vivid imagery. I don't know if this is true or not....if it is then your loss, although painful, may leave you better off.

Well done, pixie, it's good to see you posting again (at least I haven't been noticing any other writes lately) Sorry if I have just been missing them.

Will
