Heavendetta

Topic: ChristianPoetry

can you see this blistering heart?
just look through these watering eyes
and you will see
how the world is killing me
so softly
so softly

and if you look deep enough
into that gaping hole
that i so wrongfully call 'my soul'
you will see this

i wrap myself in your shadow at night
to feel the warmth i long for
yet everytime i try
to cloak myself in it at day
the sunlight does the inevitable to darkness:
it swallows your shadow

to follow is to be alone
(with you)
the lonliness keeps me alive
and through these watering eyes
i see you
i see you by candlelight

writing my name
in blood
your blood

how i long to sit at your side
the chain
(locked to the hole in your wrist)
to be locked to my blistering heart

this world is the emptiness
the sadness
that we all connect with
this world is sadly our home
(for now)

your blood is the wine
that intoxicates me

these blades of glass
surround my grave in that infinite meadow
we call life

i killed the man
yes, i killed the man
who killed me first
