You and Your Passion

It will most certainly hide from you -
like an image of an ancient queen
tucked behind a ruby veil.
It will most assuredly deceive you -
with disguises and magicians ploys.
You are no match for it -
it is stealth and you are dull.
But away from you it cries -
wanting you as much as you want it -
that thing you long for -
for it also has a need to know you.
Now my friend, beware
for you will find it
and it you -
and when you do, make haste
but do not embrace -
for it will most assuredly burn you
and make way with your senses.
But hold it at a distance
and it will be like light
given on to darkness -
and you will find your way
and lay with it in solace -
you and your passion.

Very nice poem!
I think what the world needs today is some passion. |
