Communion

Contributed by eggflipper on Sunday, 26th February 2006 @ 11:46:59 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I've left the safety
of the lighted room.
Strolled helplessly
into the dark crevices of your thighs.
This is where man found god.
It is here in triumph
psalms were written to praise your freedom.
It is here men mouth religion.

It is only now in all my boldness
do I lay back and watch the faces
of all who have prayed before me.
I should curse your curves
and speak in blasphemy
for the altar has been disgraced,
by failed sacrifices
and guily donations.

But not here,
not now,
not ever.

I will deny the heresies
and beg for my communion.

i know this sounds stupid but i skipped over your poem because your name sounded kind of silly, and i wasn't in the mood for 'silly'. Thankfully i got over that and read your poem afterall. and oh my god! what a poem! i can only dream of being able to express myself that way...

your poem is beautiful and violent and passionate and poignant all in one. simply, i loved it.

This was an excellently executed work of art...although I must be honest the choice of comparisons left my spirit raw because of my Religious beliefs...I can not deny a well written piece.

Great write, filled with metaphor and passion. I have a hard time with metaphor so I really appreciate it.
