The Sinner

Contributed by thesinner on Sunday, 26th February 2006 @ 06:27:49 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I am the sinner
My sins, too many to remember
My innocence , lost, so many lives ago
Enslaved by my bitterness
I keep no record of my wrongs
Swallowed up by my passions
My physical needs overshadow my heart
And I have a hunger,
I hunger for what I cannot have
a love, that will never be mine
for who would love one such as I?

i am the lost one.
My conscience breathing heavily in my ears
I turn away.
Righteousness be damned
and honour trodden underfoot.
I am divided in my loyalties,
A traitor to myself.
For I have walked away fro faith
and embraced the darkness.
i reap the harvest of my sins
and clutch them tightly to my breast
I savour the sweetness of my conquests
and remain alone on my Path.

I am the sinner.
and for a moment I glimpse on what could have been
I realize it is lost to me,
and I ignore the voice of reason.
I continue on my journey
and I yield nothing, let emptiness fill me
I welcome the pain as my companion
and i grow numb to all else
I am the sinner.

Deep, amazing poem, great write, love the way it rhymes, love the way you put ur feelings into words. I love the way the poem flows..it's also dark, but beautiful in it;'s own way.
