it is amazing to see around me the accomplishment
accomplishment of others more dedicated, talented
with more promise, more intelligence, more kindness
they are just so much- better- than me

and so i try to draw a little, write a little, sing a little
to prove to myself and all others my worth
and yet i never make it in my own point of view
to the level of greatness the betters possess

in a perfect world we would all be amazing
we would all have a specific thing to give to the earth
everyone would feel at home and needed, respected
it is clear we are not in a perfect world
