anguished

There’s the finest tremble in your wrist
as you reach behind my head
to tangle your fingers in my hair
you were always so right
and I’d have never guessed
that you would be the one to push
me down
didn’t think I’d willingly be led
you tell me it’s just a little heart ache-
with time it will pass
like the love we once shared
only time can cover it with the finest
of dust and dull
the shock of the reflection of
a tearstained face
the pain of a second half
you were always the better
part of the things I’ve been taught
to hate about myself
you’ve always been the fire
the fierceness
the reluctance to compromise
and take silver
fighters, the two of us and it’s
what eventually burned this to the
ground

...you are a poet...you instinctively comprehend the alchemy of language...you create fine medicine for others...but, despairing are the alchemists unable to blend healing for themselves...
...sorry if I scared you...
...I have begun a custody fact finding journey...talk about fighters...

Holy . . . you blow me away so --not so easily, but so freaking deftly. This . . . the line breaks . . . your ending . . . just the way you feel and write and express and are . . . I'm totaled.
Again. |
