Urban Sprawl

In this city mute disparim pervades...
I am an appendage. Splayed.
On streets of contused cobbles and bleary windows, whose austerity serves
To stifle the soul as it yearns
to link, to latch on to love.
It never will happen in this concrete, collective isolation.
