This poem means something to someone,
And nothing to someone else.
This poem is silly and solemn and true,
And all of it makes me happy and blue.
This poem has elves and giants and dwarves,
And monkeys and aliens, too.
This poem is nonsense that makes perfect sense,
And is familiar to me and to you.
It’s summer and winter and autumn and fall,
And springtime and no time all at the same time.
It’s pineapple salsa and chocolate chip cookies,
And soda and sugar that makes you gazookies.
It’s death and life and heaven and hell,
Closing the door and ringing the bell.
It remembers everything.
It always forgets.
It sees the future.
And doesn’t know what’s next.
It’s work-time and playtime,
And nighttime and daytime.
1:27 is its favorite away time.
It knows what it’s doing,
And where it is going.
It’s lost on the paper.
In July it is snowing.
It’s football on Easter and costumes at Christmas,
Whatever it is, I’m sure gonna miss this.
Every second it’s changing.
It all stays the same.
It’s inside out and outside out.
It’s head over heels and upside down.
It’s a laugh and cry.
It smiles and frowns.
It’s a wedding day in a bright pink gown.
This poem says something,
Says nothing at all.
This poem skinny,
Short, fat, and tall.
None of it matters,
It’s essential to life.
It’s eating spaghetti,
With a butcher knife.
This poem is crazy and completely sane,
It’s sunny outside, and yet there is rain.
Where is the rainbow?
Where did the snow go?
Why does the wind blow?
Why don’t we all know?
This poem is long.
This poem is short.
This poem is normal,
She says with a snort.
This poem means something,
In a way that is bended.
It’s perfectly clear.
This poem has ended.
