My heart does not beat,

To the sound of your drum.

No.

Your music does not move my feet,

They move to my hum.

I am woman.

No.

You will not break

This head you call stubborn

No.

For my weakness will not be lead

To the hands of what you may determine.

I am woman.

No.

My fate is not at the mercy

Of your discretion

No.

It is not my will to curtsy

Only for your impression.

I am woman.

No.

My hands do not write

To instill your mind amused

No.

And it is not out of spite

My anger is not transfused.

I am woman.

No.

This lingerie

was not put on for you

And No,

It can not even begin to demonstrate

How much pride, my self-reliance exudes

I…Am…Woman.
