Your Toy

Looking at me with those dancing eyes
revealing a truth I have forever longed to find,
a sly smirk adorns his stunning face
and a desperation for him creeps into me,
rendering me blind.
A pure white page of paper
becomes littered with daring thoughts
Letting words flow freely, full of risk
with pauses heart becomes distraught.
Suddenly the dreaded word
springs from your pen in hand,
"Toy" is what you want me to become,
A plaything which you can set aside
When you grow tired, when I grow cold
And all is said and done.
I smile plays upon my lips
At the thought of being close to you
Yet I want so much more for us
But I'll take you any way I can get you.
I closed my tired eyes,
and saw a future with you
yet all you want is a plaything,
and I suppose that will have to do.
Can I convince you otherwise?
Am I this desperate for your affection?
You could make me feel beautiful,
your touch could make me feel alive.
Repetition with no end
a damaging cycle,
so why give in again?
Those who've tried in the past
only tore me apart till I was nearly dead.
But I sense a difference within you
Foolishly swallowed by your charms
I fool myself into thinking it'll be different
this time around
because I yearn for you
more than can be imagined.
Haven't felt this energy or passion
since I floated into the dark sea
but you've made your intentions clear
and yet I still crave you
but can I be your plaything,
and your one and only too?
