Standing up so high,
I look down below,
To gaze and see,
Everything I know.
For life, and death,
Everything between,
All exists down there:
Nothing I've not seen.
To reach down and grab,
It all fits in my hand.
It looks so worthless,
Like a beach full of sand.
It pains me to see,
Everything I know,
Reduced to such sand,
With nothing to show.
For, like a beach,
With all of its sand,
Waves carry it away,
To a far off land.
Drifting aimlessly,
Carried through miles,
It makes such a journey,
Landing on foreign isles.
So why know everything,
When all goes astray?
The harder you grip life...
The more floats away.
