This is where I came from

The god that created me, was not one that you know,
But instead an imitator, putting on a scientific show,
Playing a divine power, trying to create a life,
The metallic scraping tools, an endless prodding knife,
Not conceived of love, but of meddling planted cells,
Swirling around and around within, a mix of chemical gels,
And my brothers and my sisters, disposed as if meaningless,
I never thought my parents, could be so very careless,
Maybe I wasn’t meant to be, for the way that I was born,
Endless failed chances, and all they could do was mourn,
They didn’t even care, about the potential lives wasted,
A moment of life in time, was all that they had tasted,
Down the drain they were dumped, into an abyss of death,
Never even considering, the stolen chance of breath,
And some were carried off, into the foggy icy air,
To be frozen until desired, dead... until someone cared,
There were over 500,000 of us, but what about the rest?
How many of us were lost, during the procedures of the test?
Sometimes there were three of us, who made it to the first stage,
But only two of us were able, to fit into that cage,
Playing a game of eanie meanie, which ones would stay?
Which of us would live, to grow another day?
They said it was impossible, so they needed to assist,
Once upon a time, this is how I came to exist,
In a petri dish, in the laboratory down the hall,
Where no one ever notices us, because we are so small,
Perhaps, but not insignificant, I had the right to live,
But so did every other embryo, that had a to life give,
In the eyes of others, it may be wrong for some,
But this is how I came to be, this is where I came from.

wow, what a unique viewpoint of life you must have!
however it might help to realize that we are all conceived by a cosmic luck of the draw. |

unlike those who perceive cosmic chance
I lean to the preception that we chose our birth from the afterlife. As for those who did not make it, these were experiences they required on their path. In every experience in life, there are lessons to be learned. If perceived, experiences are our guides. If not, they are our hindrances. |
