Pain of Remembrance

Contributed by frankcube on Sunday, 19th February 2006 @ 09:38:15 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I sit so tight; it’s past midnight,
No light, no sight to purge my fright,
Nor image bright for my delight,
Instead, I might – I think I might, Just think of you, on such a stormy night.
It’s like déjà vu, yet skies were blue,
Last time the flowers bloomed, but now they gloom,
Portray a doom, so soon, in tune to the sounds of regret.
I fret; suspect that you have left,
Gone and slipped trough my net, and yet,
I cannot forget the nights we spent together.
Regardless of the weather, making love on the leather,
Your eyes sparkled and your beauty floated like a feather,
Yes, I remember, that love so tender.
Not you or I could render such bliss again, if not
To return to such splendor
Nothing could be better, ‘let her back’ I cry in pain,
But all is done in vein; it could never be the same,
Even if she came, the love has already been drained,
No longer sustained; noting left doth remain,
And so I sit here, drenched in pain and agony,
Sitting still and so regretfully,
All I do is ponder deeply, hoping you’ll come back to me,
And turn back to a time so happily,
Joyfully, wishfully picking roses unsuspectingly,
Loving you, you loving me,
Who am I to fool thee?
I betrayed you then, I could do it again
And so I stay and sit,
Till sunset’s lit
To rue another day,
Where thoughts would only betray

This is so amazing!
It's bringing back memories
That I'd hoped were long forgotten.
Amazing..
