when i take my last breath

Contributed by poetry_queen on Sunday, 19th February 2006 @ 07:12:15 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

i want to grow old with you darling
i want life to be good to us
i want a lifetime of memories to
build and cherish around you.

i want to be everything you ever
dreamed i could be and offer you
yet i know one day my name will
be read in the book of names.

when that day, that moment comes,
with my last breath i pledge
to whisper you ahve made every
dream i dared dream come true.

you put the joy seen in my eyes
you put the softness in my touch
the laughter i heard in my voice
the passion when we made love.

few things i have wanted to feel
but a happy life has been one
i love you more than the past, more
than today, even more tomorrow.

you have shown me within my heart
that you are truly unselfish
and my darling, i hope that i also have
shown you the depth of my love.

i will lvoe you each day, as if it was
my last moment to say 'i love you'
my last thought before i fall asleep
will be to feel your kiss in the morning.
