If...

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Saturday, 18th February 2006 @ 01:21:15 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

If...
If I were a vine
with my tiny tendrils
I would climb
and wrap myself around you
for much needed support

If I were a violet
with leaves of deep green
and dark purple flower
I would flourish and grow
happy in the shade of you
even in the darkest hours

If I were the mighty oak
how sturdy and strong
I would be
Though, I would still need the support
of your solid ground, my love
to grow my roots and steady me

If I were the loveliest rose
a true crimson red with
thorns so thick
You can hold me
oh so tight my love
Your gentle flesh
I shall not prick

If I were an entire meadow
of foxtail and fescue
I would never tire my love
of waving in the wind
day after day
at sweet
kind
wonderful you

Penned February 2006
Laura Horner

Laura, this definitely shows your deep love and committment to your husband. How lucky you both are. It is rare these days to find couples like you too. I wish you both the very best of love and life.

Smiles,
Rita

Laura, this was [is] stunning! My God! to be in love like that. To be
inspired to write with such depth and devotion and love.
Amazing, sweet Laura. I am so touched by the sentiment here,
I am near tears. And how wonderfully you've written it as well.
So very well done, my friend. So very well done!

Beautiful my sister Laura as all of your writes are. truly a heart stopper as only one as dignified and peace loving could write. One who has experienced the real meaning of love brought only through marriage.

((((Laura)))) peace 2u my sister and dear

noble friend.
