''Run Away''

Contributed by drtylilsecret on Friday, 17th February 2006 @ 03:16:50 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Do you tell them?
Shut your mouth!
Do you open up?
I don't dare
You're all alone--no one cares
It's the dark you can't light up
It the blood you can't wash off

Run, run, run away from here
Don't come--no looking--back
Don't wanna, don't stop
Outrun those voices
Screaming in your head
Hide the knife
Stifle the pain

Cause it's hopeless--
All is lost
Dont come--dont look-back
Run, run, run away from here

It's harder to forget
Than to remember
Even when forgetting
Is your only escape
It's better--It's easier
Ignorance is bliss
Forget, ignore, close your eyes
If you don't wanna see
The world crashing around me
Shut your ears
If you don't wanna hear
And run
run
run
If you wanna escape
To get away
If you don't wanna be here
If you don't know
Where you wanna be

Hidden deep
Parallel universe
Heaven
Cause hell doesn't seem as real
Once it's on earth
In your damned life

So you run
When the world surrounding crashes
When life collapses
When everything around you
Isn't real anymore
When it's just a nightmare
And you can't wake up

So you run--
Don't stop--
Don't look back--
Outrun the voices
Screaming in your head
Run from yourself
Run from everyone else
Hide the knife
Stifle the pain
Wash away the blood
That's set and stained your soul

Well, I like it but it seems to be missing something. Of course you are just starting out on this site and I don't know how long you have been writing poetry but you're doing great. The repetition is good. How do I explain it? It needs more of a story. You're off to a great start!

A few edits:

Emotions and other things
Wanting to run like a pretty girl in a big open field of green grass who is happy
Rain drops dew mist
With not liking the current situation
With running for the doing good
