Burning Away The Scars

Contributed by VivreAmoureuxMourir on Friday, 17th February 2006 @ 01:57:24 AM in AEST
Topic: Event

A torn shirt
And punches thrown
Is just the start
The world begins to crumble
Someone who wasn't, now is
Not even a hot shower
Could burn away the scars
On the heart
Or the skin
As the water turns pink
The tears blend in
And to try so hard
To keep it inside
Finally to practice
The right to not say a word
And to get so far!
Just to give up in the end
Kills the soul
To wish they would know
To wish you could say
That it isnt supposed to be this way
That it isn't what it seems
That this isn't what you meant
To just have a little faith
Even when there is doubt
And even though its not allowed
Because we have no right
It hurts both ways
On the darkest of nights
And to know they can't forgive it
To know you can't regret it
You just must learn from it
And cannot repeat it
To try to mend the void
Where a shattered heart beats
Pushes them away
To leave sooner than expected
Instead of into their arms
To the dangerous streets
To no welcome signs
Anywhere you turn
Only to cause more grief
To loved ones
Because you arn't who you were
Because you hate who you are
Because you're ready to change
If only given a chance
But is it too late?
To go back to the ways before
Set rules for yourself once again
To see how long these last
Because you are who you hate.

So very sad. Intense and emotional, flowing.
No my dear it isnt to late. Through the dark clouds come the sunshine if you just look to let it in.

really great poem, gives a great visual, of how some things seem at their most desperate times.

but things do get better, you just have to give them time.

this piece of poetry was really raw and you definitely know how to express your emotions.
