As Beautiful as a Rose

Contributed by Doriens_Picture on Friday, 17th February 2006 @ 01:00:22 AM in AEST
Topic: abstract

You are as beautiful as a rose
But your thorns are tipped with poison
Your petals cut through all of me
Like shards of broken glass

Cutting through my wrist through my heart
I am broke torn apart
Through my flesh through my bones
With this pain I’m left me alone

You are as beautiful as an angel
But even angels can be tainted
Even angels can fall from grace
Like the morning star

With your wings you smother me
With your halo you burn me
Brand me on my wrist
And the pain I cannot resist

You are as sweet as an addiction
Your love was no benediction
So now my cuts have company
Your burns have never left me

My soul was once set on fire
Now it’s burnt
My eyes once shone like stars
Well now the stars are dead

You are as beautiful as a rose
But your thorns are tipped with poison
Your petals cut through all of me
Like shards of broken glass

Cutting through my wrist through my heart
I am broke torn apart
Through my flesh through my bones
With this pain I’m left me alone

The poison has inflicted me
I cannot think I cannot sleep
And it will kill but I know now
It will kill you too

pretty good, but don't let the rhymes control your thoughts, just write and let the rhymes come on their own.

This is well written and heartbreaking to me, your pain is evident and I really was touched by all of your words but the fourth verse really got me, I hope things get better for you
