she saw you lying there,
your pillow smothered with tears.
your pretty face red from crying,
letting the world see your fears.
you kept everything in,
but now the pain is too much,
you had to let everything go,
in order to touch
the one thing you wanted,
but she was no longer there.
you wanted her to hold you,
but she didnt dare
let her true feelings be known,
she kept them all inside.
away from you, away from herself,
if only she had tried.

she saw you lying there,
and wanted to reach out to you.
but she couldnt find the words
to show her feelings were true.
inside all she wanted,
was to hold onto you tight,
but she couldnt give in
and let you win the fight.
she wanted to be strong,
but she knew deep down she couldnt.
her heart was saying to give in,
but her mind told her she shouldnt.

you saw her sitting there,
her cheeks soaked with tears.
her body shaking from crying
letting out al her fears.
you sat down and held her,
said you wanted her again.
but you saw doubt in her eyes,
cos all she felt was pain.
you pressed your hand against her face,
and said the words shed longed to hear.
her eyes began to weep again
and you wiped away her tears.

you both lay there,
and cried into each other.
you both wanted the love back,
had never wanted another lover
to replace what you both had,
because you both couldnt let go,
of the memories you held,
and the love you didnt show.
time was all you needed,
to realise the love was there.
but it had been there all along,
and now, it would never disappear

A very modest name you have there lol. Very nice poem. I've been on that end - refusing to give in, and lost something I know would have been amazing if I'd only tried harder. Tender, heartfelt - I definitely enjoyed reading it. Hope to see more. And welcome to the site.
