He's With Her Now

Topic: Suicide

Though the darkness he walked
The shadows they whispered to him
The cold, quiet night was lonely
Like his heart
He stopped dead in his tracks
Shivering slightly in the icy rain
The rain poured down
Just as the tears
In the dark corners of his room
Three nights ago he held her
As the blood seeped
From the open wound
His want for her
Was like nothing else before
The emptiness of the night
Was amplified by the dejection
Only he could understand
Perspiration covered his forehead
His heart had never been so heavy
Now gasping for air;
His heart pounding in his chest
He would hold her close forever
He left the world in silence
No screaming in pain
Only the ring of a pistol bullet
Piercing the night air
