My Valentine sat beside me,
And he whispered by my ear,
Sweet words that were not meant for me,
Yet I couldn't help but hear.
Although it hurt to hear his voice,
And not meet his eyes with mine,
I knew that he would love me soon,
My beautiful Valentine.
I quickly locked my smile up,
Where the others do reside,
To wait eagerly for the day,
When the words would soon be mine.
