Stare into her silencing gems of blue;
The story that she whispers can't be heard by anyone,
Except from the reflection of your mirror.
Too immersed within her reality;
Her illusion sweeps away all your doubts.
Too blind to see that,
Beneath the shimmering eyes,
Lies another realm of scorching flames,
That don't repent for their mistakes.
Flicking on and off;
From beauty to contempt,
Innocence to deception;
Two puddles of teal, within a canvas of white,
No longer do they speak of idealistic futures.
"Caution!" reads the cracked glass that was once her grace.
Slithering through your wounds, bitter and fierce;
The words swim with your blood,
Shouting the name of that which they despise,
Drowning the very heart that requires it to breathe,
Piercing through the flesh, not a word of remorse.
Never pulling the blade out--forcing it through the other end.
Don't look at the skin that covers her soul.
A pale glow of hope,
Draped underneath her sorrows,
It touches your spirit; releases the words inside you,
Out, and trickling down your cheeks; never believing that,
It was her last kiss goodbye.

I can tell that this is a very crafted poem. You have used a vast array of metaphorical imagery that i absolutely love.
Slithering through your wounds, bitter and fierce;
The words swim with your blood
I really enjoyed this part.
Please consider some of my poetry as well, if you have time. Thank you |
