Ode to a spirit

Contributed by Alma on Tuesday, 14th February 2006 @ 11:05:37 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The world I've seen in her eyes...
Oh the beauty...
How can you describe endless universe?
Why do you wish to know all the secrets?
Don't you think that ignorance is bliss

Her hands carried me through the darkness
Her smile made me grow inside
Her tears made wounds on my flesh

So what if she died?
So what if somebody took her life away?
So what if she was too young to experience life?
So what if I know that bullet could have hit me?
Would she be sitting here, writing
and listening Circle
Would she be a pop princes, drama queen or a metal goddess?

Would she still make me sad and happy at the same time?
Would she still fight to protect me or
would I stand up to spare her

If god exists one day I'll ask these questions

But the only thing that can make me cry now that I'm numb
is knowing that this could have ben ended in time

And I know if war lasted 3 weeks instead 3 years of living hell
I wouldn't be asking these questions
she would be here making me laugh

So what if I know something that will never stop bothering me
SHE WAS MURDERED A MONTH BEFORE ALL THE ATTACKS ON BOSNIA WERE ENDED

I felt a lonesome sigh within your words. So touching so sad......
Many questions that events like this bring to our thought making us weary and in loss of our hope and faith.
Blessings to you
Michelle

Very sad indeed. I felt this poem started off good, but it sort of collapsed at the end. Heh, but it only my opinion. =)
