The Singular Few
...the day ends,
frayed threads seek to nest,
to rest,
to cuddle with a pleasant warmth,
a soothing softness...
...pillows, sheets, blankets and mattress,
entities that mold to your form,
unquestioningly,
unconditionally,
believing...
...these,
with voices neither male nor female,
but endowed somehow with a Loving acceptance...
...these call,
and having called,
patiently wait...
...fortunate is the beast,
the chosen few,
whose patient call
comes from a Living,
Loving,
other.
...even more fortunate,
is the beast,
the singular few,
whose patient call
comes,
from,
within.

I didn't get a feeling of lonliness at all from this. I am not sure how this displays lonliness. I feel the writer is very contempt here, and very much comfortable with him/her self. That is also, as a reader how I felt in the end. A very snug and cozy write. Great form, gentle flow, laced with a brilliant romantic choice of very simple yet an obvious intentional careful selection of words.
GREAT JOB!

It's........ like reading an absorbing book, by a warm fire, in the dead of winter. Perhaps it feels that way to me because I so often find my thoughts tied to, prompted by, words found on a page and recognize the call from within as having much to do with the same. Solitude is, I suppose, what you make it. I must confess though that my opinions on the matter do vary from time to time, you know? *sigh* Yeh.
This leaves me partially nodding, partially aching, partially knowing - but fully appreciating what I found here. Thanks, Ron
