I could only imagine how it would feel
Knowing that you have nothing
No mother, no father, no sister or brother
Just you, alone, in the Children's Home
I could only imagine how it would feel
Being ripped away from your mother
Not being able to live with your last posessions,
The only things left; your siblings.
I could only imagine how it would feel
Knowing that you aren't good enough
They love your brother, they love your sister
But you? What about you? They don't want you.
I can only imagine how it would feel,
Having to live, being wanted by no one.
Your siblings are good enough for foster parents
But you? Well, you.... they still don't want you
I could only imagine how it would feel
Being trapped inside a second grader's body
Wise beyond your years due to what life handed you,
Yet still not knowing what to do
I could only imagine how it would feel
Abandoned, isolated, and miserable.
After all, you tell me, she was my mother
Those beatings were her way of loving
I could only imagine how it would feel
Having your teacher understand nothing
You're punished for those outbursts of anger
But how else are you supposed to show your feelings?
I can't even imagine how it would feel
Knowing that you have nothing
No mother, no father, no sister or brother
Just you, alone, in the Children's Home

| great expression of how a foster child might feel. makes me grateful for my family but also mournful for those without. |
