Concern
plastered on their faces
as tears streamed freely
no longer inhibited
by fear of judgement
I had reached the epitome
of recognition of insanity.
"Give her a few of the purple ones,
and the green ones to start,"
as if this was the remedy,
to prevent me from falling apart.
Pain, anger, shame
Why me?
Why must I be damaged, discarded,
Unaccepted into the "normalcy" of society?
Extract emotion with this daily dosage
Of constant mediocracy.
Leave me as a numb, empty shell
Hollowed out and sunken in
Not being able to differentiate
between this drug-induced blank state
and long-forgotten reality.

This was one of the best poems I've read in a while. Its so true as well. Another good song would perhaps be Bother by Stone Sour. Wow... once again great poem.
