FREE GRACE

Contributed by Lionel on Thursday, 9th February 2006 @ 09:27:55 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

On the day I did believe,
It was the Spirit's work in me.
When by faith I did Christ see,
It was the gift of God to me.
When His wrath I feared to face,
Then came pardon of all by grace.

Oh, what manner of love is this,
That God would ever stoop to kiss,
Such an unworthy worm as me,
And open my blinded eyes to see,
Such a marvelous work as grace,
To let this mortal seek His face,
With his suffering, make me immortal,
And open, for me, the heavenly portal.

John 6:29 "This is the work of God; that ye believe."
Phil 1:29 "For unto you it is given to believe...."
Phil. 2:13 "God worketh in you both to will and to do
of His good pleasure."

Lionel

He loves you so. Miracles one after the other, and miracles are still done today, He is with us. When we open up to Him, and not just to believe but to suffer along with Him, is what a Christian does, God understands our suffering, of course He does. Is He saying, been there, done that.. yes, because He has been through it all, and more than we will ever have to take, so greatful to be loved by Him, that He takes our burdons away. If we open up to Him, He will be in us to work out all our problems, He will not leave us. Thank you for the scripture references Lionel. His divine grace is given to us freely, He has paid off our debts. Hugs, raquel leah

Oh Lionel, how wonderful that you were able to experience His unconditional love and kindness.
His all-powerful Spirit penetrates the most callous heart. the most lukewarm heart, and perfects the love of those that already belong to Him.
I am profoundly touched by this superb poem
Only humble thankfulness for so much Grace and goodness is all we can do.
Thank you for this outstanding witness to His mercy, graciousness and kindness.

Blessings in abunda ce
Elizabeth
