WHAT WENT WRONG
I wander down the street to use the telephone,
Shall I pay off my existing credit card loan?
Hammers behind my eyes like a muffled drum,
I wouldn’t let the bailiffs take; I wouldn’t let them come.
Birds seemed to know what was in my head,
Clouds scribbled a message of threadlike dread.
Small children were they smiling at me?
Everywhere I look people seem to look at me.
If only I had more money to spend,
I wouldn’t be in a financial mess wanting to lend.
Nearly to the call box I hum a quiet song,
A BMW passes where did I go wrong?
I want to start again, to get rid of dead wood,
I want to do well at school and get the job I should.
LOADED DICE (HAIKU)
Loaded dice craving,
Six times we try hard congress.
Baby pushchair now rolled.
