Startling, captivating
this awakening of truth
not knowing much of your inner self
yet nevertheless yearning to be near you.
Shallow, judgemental
your eyes reveal a deep sea of beauty
your face's softness welcoming
revealing a neverending story.
The mirror screams at me,
"Who would want that ugly thing?"
A disgrace to womanhood
gnarled, twisted, unsightly
I feel as if I'm polluting your eyes
when they gaze at me
for this unevolving lifeform
possesses not a trace of beauty.
No appeal apparent
no unique physique,
an average, common creation
and ordinary is so boring.
Do you have any use for me?
I'll do anything...
For a slice of your affections,
a single page in your story.
