I See Through Dusty Windows

Look into my eyes,
These dusty windows of my mind,
And make out my emotions:
They're so calm to find.
Like a holed-up house,
Shades drawn and light gone,
A barricaded fort:
Peace forever won.
Dusty from non-use,
The windows hardly ever open,
Only peeking to gain breath:
One of few chosen.
But spotless windows,
Lights splays out into the dark void,
Lighting up your very soul:
Peace forgotten... life enjoyed.
