In a swirling myriad of colour and emotion she flew.
Arms flung out at her sides.
Pale hair soaring in the breeze
A soft hum in the echo of the night.
Unbound from deep inside,
Turning rapidly to a scream.
Her colour,
Her vibrancy,
Speaks to the mind like a shadowy mystery
Hidden by the light of a thousand candles.
In her beauty she is lost
Plunging from the skies in a fit of impatience with the earth
from the unknown of above she falls
Landing in the dark
Surrounded now not by clouds,
But by filth,
By destitution.
Her decision has been made.
This is how it shall remain.
Until the day comes
When light can break through the hazy smog
And time can repair the damage that is done.
In a flattened heap of dirt and lies she kneels.
Arms limp at her sides
Hair matted at the crown.
Just waiting for the day to come.
