Lavender and Crimson

Contributed by Man_On_High on Tuesday, 7th February 2006 @ 01:21:42 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

You who went
so innocently before us..
you, upon the Boone winds
and Hudson-Marlborough sky...
do not forget me
in all the downcast and remote
life that is mine.

Smiling girl upon a rainbow
galloping over the morning of your life
blessedly unmet with crippling rememberances
shaming me with your enthusiasms,
spare me now a thought of quiet love
in all your soothing green-eyed wisdom...
You, whom I hope sorrow
has so dismally failed to possess.

Always enter through the outgoing-door
laden with Lavender and Crimson for the fire
bearing the warmth of your heart
with radiance rare beyond the knowing
for those who knew you too briefly
and loved you to well for jealous time to suffer,
yet had unkillable joy in that knowledge.

Keep promises and gather still,
Lavender and Crimson for the fire
from the brighter side of Heaven..
joining us again, all so improbably together
over a candle-lit table.. far from a Last Supper;
bridging lives now stellar in distance
through the firey flaming of all your yesterdays
and their dark toungeless endings.

I love you.. knowing only through you
that in some better time to come
beyond the brittle demnsion of now,
we'll meet again... you and I...
your light gentleness and joyous wayward ways

'Till then Mother..I lament
now under a cloud..
that has darkend that, this and some final hour...

hanging over me but forever more.

Billy,
My tears are endless and my heart hurts for you my friend. I know how much you miss your Mother. She'd be smiling at you now with her head held high saying, "yes that's my son, Billy, I'm so proud of him" Her memories are kept alive in ur heart my dear friend.
A touching and beautiful tribute to your Mother.
My thoughts, heart and prayers are with you always and forever my dear friend.
*love n heartfelt hugs for u*

If for nothing else than this it is consuming:

"You, whom I hope sorrow
has so dismally failed to possess"

indeed, those two lines show a wordsmith absent of the rest of the poem.

man...i did all i could to hold back the tears...to no avail.

this is fantastic bro. i know how long this write must have been inside of you, so happy to see that you let it out...and shared it with all. reading this, a bit suspenseful at first, i was sure i knew where it was going.

i feel (and, of course, share) your pain. many tears i've shed on this topic...and the ones today were for you.

love you bro,

wiz

What a tribute of exquisite and memorable love... Masterfully captivating, to say the least. I'm deeply honoured, to be privilege, to have come across this muse. Thanks for sharing. And may Mother Wisdom lead you with the Dove's comforting care.

Regards,
~Lilly-Quill
