The beach, with grace plays a role in my mind
memories as if sand beneath my feet pressed
in my mind
Time the same as water washing ashore
memories fade more and more, time and over
again this sequence begins, one memory
to one thousand fading one by one as time presses
on, every one less vivid than the one before,
yet still holding a place of its own
I think of my life the things that pass
how memories fade but still never
erased
The hurt of today, the pain of old,
pressing my being as life continues,
the waves roll on

LOL, I was hoping I would be the first to talk about the title. Alas, I am beat to the punch. The title is an eye catcher.
The poem itself is very descriptive. The comparison to time and the ocean is one I do not believe I have read before. That analogy is very good. All in all this is a fantastic write. Straight, simple, to the point but flowing with a hidden depth.
Excellent! |

An outstanding and very well penned piece of poetry. Like the poets before me, the title drew me in. A captivating poem from start to finish. Well done and keep penning.
*warm hugs*
