All We Are Saying: Is Give War a Chance

Contributed by lancaster on Monday, 6th February 2006 @ 10:25:12 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

So the new theory is to cut and run
Leave the purpose
Retreat so that the wasted lives become undone
The battle waged
Has yet to be won
We have thus engaged
In the torturing of the sun

The weapons lost
The cache buried in the hole
A rat unearthed
Nerves defrost
Victory is tossed
As a talking point
The proper way to come across

The school built on a landmine
Think of the children
Oh my
Think of the alternative
Better ways to die
They come everyday
To ask their teachers why

Separated and confused
A nation is torn by its wounds
It attempts to make sense
Put things in the order of their respective relevance
Is searching my bag gonna’ stop them
Is a warrant without a gag, an order for destruction
Liberties and the pursuits of pure satisfaction
Put on hold for a matter of deliberate action

Nobody has any good ideas
Nobody isn’t scared
Its obvious from the faulty levees
The people are not fully prepared
To forget the nightmare
The buildings burning
The smoke blemishing the wonderful air

Nobody knows who to believe anymore
Just don’t believe your ears
The answers are legal loop holes
Meant to satiate and relieve your fears
Perpetrated by regular dishonesty
A regulated muscular monarchy
A puppet-sock for daytime talk TV
A wrinkled billionaire with supposed supernatural telepathy
Dare say a dumb dummy
A drug pusher
Money hungry
Tycoon ruler of the massive oil industry
A balloon of inflated hypocrisy
Bursts and spews
Without generosity

But I digress
We are now closer to where we need to be
And that place is
In our hearts
In our land
Living absolutely free
