fading stars

Your love is locked up
You’re feeling so grey
You say what’s in your gut
Not what your heart tells you to say
You sleep in the corner
When she’s waiting in bed
Your don’t even warn her
Of what you’re planning ahead
Those eyes say it all
Her eyes filled with fading stars
She makes you feel small
Like men are really from mars
You know your control is not long term
The trust is not there
It’s something you earn
She knows trust is made to be broken
But that’s not what she wants
Be her special token
To show her it works
Cover her eyes
And lead the way
She can let out sighs
For all she’s had to pay
Let off steam
Watch her be happy
Watch those eyes gleam
It’s her eyes that grabbed me.
