United States of The Living Dead

Contributed by ChrisSawyer on Saturday, 4th February 2006 @ 11:18:05 PM in AEST
Topic: political

Take away my brain
Give me LSD
Make me feel the pain
The brain dead army

Programmed with your morals
Brainwashed with your lies
Destroyed by your truths
Blow my mind

Make me a zombie
Take my free will
Make me a zombie
Teach me how to kill

excellent poem to some extent. i loved the ending. your beginning is a bit too choppy for my liking though. i liked your middle part, but i loved the rhyme at the end. this is a bit different than the usual post about this topic which is nice. with the last line i could debate with you that humans need no teaching about how to kill, because they seem to do it so easily at such an early age in any case. but i guess they teach you how to kill with more efficiency in any case. i do like this poem, but in any case id rather have my nation filled with such zombies instead of being a welcome mat.

I have to agree with Essentially9 we humans need no lesson on how to kill. Killing is an instinct inbreed in every species, even and especially humanity. Learning how to kill is the same as learning how to write, talk, or walk. Either we pick it up or we don't. We all, however have the instinct. It is just simply using it which separates say a soldier from a common citizen.

Overall though, this was a good write. I am not criticizing anything about your ability. Still. losing your free will is also a choice. You sign your name on the line, you choose to be a mindless drone. Free will is God given, and personally taken. Freedom is not provided by a government, a country, or a religion. It is acquired at birth no matter where you live. Whether you chose to accept your freedom is yours and yours alone. Communist countries could always revolt. Safety over freedom is the problem with humanity. Freedom is more important than safety. Soldiers do not fight for our freedom they fight for our defense. Freedom is given by God. Be damned those, who label God's creation as their own.

Good write though, even though as a whole I disagree with the subject.

Excellent poem and the scary thing is what
you say seems to be getting truer and truer. I
can see that in Canada and it is probably
even clearer in the United States. Once again
an excellent poem and here's to hoping that
America will get back on the right track once
Bush is gone.
