Grim, the smile was a chainsaw,
Ripping into the gut.
The horror is in my own hand.
A severed head of gruesome honesty,
Like a spectre of regret, anger, and sadness.
Bloodied and grinning, it provokes me into anger,
Calmly the details swallow me whole,
As if digesting.
It's a disgusting diplay of victory.
Penetrating my heart with the veracity of my situation.
Calculating the demise of all things me.

Well, you got my attention - and held it! I must have read through this piece at least four or five times. I don't know if this will make any sort of sense at all... but I hear a low, intriguing, guttural sort of moan underneath this. It really is quite something.
Nice to see you posting again! Glad I stopped by for a read... I would have hated to have missed this.

"The horror is in my own hand."
That was probably my favourite line and I
also enjoyed the next 2 lines that followed.
'Tis rare to read dark poems such as these
nowadays and I enjoyed it immensely.

This makes me think of a soldier at war. Or maybe crossing that fine line that separates us from madness...And discovering you thrive in the insanity. Understated, yet cleverly vivid.
Wonderful.
