some 'real time' observation...

Contributed by Man_On_High on Friday, 3rd February 2006 @ 02:11:47 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Never Mended

Some things are never mended
by touch of expert fingers..
no dream is ever ended
that in the lost heart lingers..
lack of love decreases
the joy of every season
with all the bits and pieces
of self, sold for high treason.

We can never quite put away
that which once was ours..
or recollect that day.. (with joy)
we brought a lover flowers.

However good the mask
we try on for disguise,
we cannot help but ask
to their unanswering eyes.

Each set as far apart
as star is from star
the distance of each heart
is as immeasurable and far
while the wreckage of our lifetime
is painfully extended,
not in her heart.. but mine.

Few things are never mended.

WK

...a Sad Interlude

I saw her standing in the rain
eyes dull with hopeless pain-
like a scarecrow standing there
a tattered scrunchie ''round her hair..
"a bag of meth", she begs and begs
her skirt clinging to mudsplashed legs
looking in vain to buy the cure-
I hadn't the guts to look at her.

Words of truth and sadness pouring from your mind and heart. Some things are truly never able to be mended. Sad some are so fragile that they cannot pick up their own pieces and put the puzzle back together. Who but ourselves know where our bits and pieces belong? Agonizing look at some people's lives and weaknesses.

Billy ~

I have read a vast amount of your work, [on here], and am continually surprised and impressed by your
expert expression of both emotions and thoughts. How carefully, [and well, I might add], you choose
your words !! Clearly, you connect with the inner voice and communicate the musings therein most
proficiently.

I truly love this one !! I could highlight exactly which lines touched and moved me most, but then, I'd have to post
the complete write !! Because, dear poet, every word -- every line, [I feel], is pure and complete perfection.

affectionately,
~Breezy

This went right through me. Flowing verse with insightful meaning. The end sealed the deal I saw someone who looked just like her almost haunted me for a moment.

Billy,
An absolute mind blowing write filled with pain and deep emotion. You pen down exactly how u feel inside and u let the reader in on ur inner thoughts and feelings. A sad, yet very well penned and expressed piece of poetry. You draw in ur reader and captivate them into reading ur write from start to finish.
I have come to know and admire many fellow poets, but u & ur talent truly are in a league of ur own. Shine on dearest Billy.

*love and warm hugs*
