When it came to responsibility, I let my daughter down.
I can't go on if she's no longer around.
She was hit by a car and is nearly dead.
Lord, please let her survive and take me instead.
CHORUS:
Lord, she's in the ICU because of my stupidity.
I was supposed to keep an eye on her instead of on TV.
We both know she deserves to have many more years ahead.
Lord, please spare her life and take me instead.
When my wife left for work, she left me in charge of supervision.
But that proved not to be a good decision.
Now I cry while my daughter lies helpless in this bed.
Lord, have mercy and take me instead.
I was negligent when I swore to be responsible.
Now her life may be lost because I'm nothing but a fool.
Lord, I beg you to listen to what I've said.
She doesn't deserve to die so please take me instead.

Jeeze man that is a deep song...I'm very sorry for what happened. My thoughts are with you and I sensiraly hope that your daughter recovers. But I do like the writting style. I will be hoping for the best.

Good song. I hope it is not autobiographical.
"In a New York minute, everything can change."
