Eyes blind open
Seeking not the truth
Focus on the concrete
Tangible, their proof
Closed minds falter
Facing the unknown
Explain away their faith
Science will condone
Fact is fiction
Fortunate are they
Sheltered from the demons
Sealing up their fate
Lies in darkness
Waiting for their time
Seeking out misguided
Fascinating rhyme
Bound by reason
What ever the cost
Eyes blind open, as they
Realize what’s lost

Definitly Philogious. I admire the construction and flow to your poem. Poems are creations which evoke meaning beyond mere marks on paper. The unsaid, says a lot to conjure up implied imagery. I loved your poem, good job. |

...the structure and rhyme is very effective...skillfully done...you have admirable command of the language...I'm a bit green!!!
...I have found through fifty-four years of travail that the two institutions which control mankind's thinking and are the least open to self-criticism and the most closed-minded are science and religion...religion being the earthly structure created in an attempt at containing the uncontainable...a sense of my autonomous "Mother-Father" given spirituality and the gift of Love has kept me in the game...many of my poems express a deep confidence in Truth, Wisdom, Beauty and Love...Truth is what science and religion stumble over most often...one of my recent posts, "This, And This Alone..." expresses some of this...
...a very well written and thought provoking poem...I thank you for both...

And this is why you are one of my favorite living poets period! I have never read anything by you that disappoints. You are extremely talented and seem to commentate on every single issue in the known universe. Here you ask questions that point out the obvious answers, and that is simply genius. I am going to make a day to catch up on some of your work I have missed. Excellent job as always.

Naz,
Ah a lot to look for here....:), sorry, I couldn't resist. I really do like the title to this poem. Yes, how often do we look, but do not see. It seems in our cognitive process our brain tells us what to look for, and so we report back when we have found what we were supposed to....unless we can keep an open mind.
Excellant poem, Nazzy/Scott, it makes one think ....

I like your work...
I am a christian but love checking things out and scanning the horizon....
as God is everywhere....even in the unknown!
You are a splendid poet.

BRAVO~! How I enjoyed this one Naz.........Relgion today is DEAD. No one asks, now searches, they just take man's word for it!!!
Hypocrites are numerous, and Our Loving Creator in Heaven is watching, and yet He still some (very few) that represent Him as the Truth!
Great write as always Naz
I'm coming back to read the Your story, I enjoyed the last very much
Warm love
