Truth unveiled in the night

anguished
|
In the grass she lies,
Flowers in her hair
and on her dress.
Fingers twisting knots deep into her skull.
Side by side with her tormenter.
Eyes as red as the evening sky
She sees clearly now,
Unveils a web of lies
Opens her mind to a harsh realisation.
Collects her scattered dreams
Locks them tight inside her heart.
Protection from the ghosts.
In cold harsh words the bad news comes,
Life is a lie.
In beauty lies hate.
In innocence lies misfortune.
In hope lies regret.
The petals fall from her dress.
The joyful flora wither and die
Life no longer holds mystery
All hope is lost.
