Must I always run alone?
And dance alone my victory dance?
I have success, piles of money,
But who would care if neither were there?
A walk alone is surely not a walk at all,
But a stumble through the gathering mist,
A hunt; a search; someone to find,
A need to make this walk a stroll,
A stroll towards the end of life,
Stuck to another until the end of time.
Will I never take that stroll?
And creak in time with someone else?
Success undone, money burnt a hole,
I ‘d never care if someone were there.
