Fate is there, laughing at me,
Sitting behind his massive desk;
Pouring over piles of wishes,
And noting everyone's requests.
You could say I don't send mine in,
Because I'm the forward type of guy;
I make my own personal visits,
And Fate's attitude is always so wry.
I stare him down with cold blue eyes,
And tell him of all of my worry.
He sits there and plans it out,
Then is off in quite a hurry.
The reason he's wry, I'll tell you;
You could say I'm never that specific.
For when he goes and makes things right,
It tends to end up quite horrific.
Fate doesn't lie, he never breaks promise,
He always tries and does his best.
For everything that I ask of him,
He gives me exactly what I request.
But is "exact" always the best?
You could say that's why Fate does laugh,
Because I could always ask for better,
But I'm never thinking that on my behalf.
