I am the mountain (you are the rain)

Contributed by iodinelove on Tuesday, 31st January 2006 @ 08:20:12 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Holding her loosely beneath the satin rivers of the night, he said,
"Silver is the water of my love, and my love is a stolen white sky surrendering to the beginning of a new dawn."

She smiled at this, fingering the curls of autumn's final locks, and said quietly,
"In my dreams I am a mountain approaching a new dawn; there are thunders all around me, and I am afraid, but then the rain comes and its waters are a silver day laughing all around me, and I dance."

With this said, he closed his eyes and looked for her, saying,
"In my dreams you are the rain and I am the mountain. I am tired, thirsty, stretched thin by the sun. You come to me-slowly at first, as if afraid; then faster, faster, shattering against my flesh-and I drink."

And laughing, they kissed and slept and dreamed, and in their dreams they said,
"Together we are mountain, rain, and sky; the silver thunders of a fast approaching dawn, and together, we dance."
