This, And This Alone

This, And This Alone

...in our time of existence,
should we be so blest,
there comes into our arena of familiarity,
one,
one that surpasses the significance of others...
simple beings that we be,
a finiteness that would mortify the gods,
we attach extraordinary significance
to that one...
in a narcissistic swoon,
we choose to bleed,
to sweat,
to embrace,
to cherish,
to honor and nurture
to share our bodies,
to enter the sacred Holy of Holies,
to create,
with that one...
this...
this,
we call,
love.

And,
were there only one,
that one,
that solitary creature,
again,
that incomprehensible blending of physics and experience,
this one,
would most certainly be worthy,
totally,
comprehensively,
worthy...

But,
ah, yes,
the omnipresent,
but...
the Infinite Ones that be,
smile a warm cathartic smile,
eyes softly sealed,
a gently tilted awareness;
these embrace an essential Truth:

Each is One.
Each is worthy.
Each is totally and comprehensively worthy.

...this,
and this alone,
is Love...

Nicely done. This made me look deep
and think.

I could go on and on here about where our philosophies may intertwine and possibly start to fray ... instead I will say this ... how can you be writing as you do and not be read more ? Good grief, Ron. I have been to three of your posts thus far today ... and believe I shall start from the beginning to further aquaint myself with your words. I find much thought in them, and many thoughts in me for having read them ... that to me is the true essence of poetry ... awakening and challenging of the mind. You have done both this day. Thank you.

Nazzy ~
